DISINFECTING TIPS FOR THE KITCHEN.

We take staying home and staying safe seriously, and with this concoction you’ll have a squeaky-clean oven without even having to leave the front door. All you’ll need are two ingredients that are most likely already in your kitchen: baking soda and vinegar.

Both are all-natural, non-toxic cleaning products that can take the place of many household oven cleaners that often leave behind nasty chemicals. They work together to lift off stubborn stains and grease for easy wiping. This dynamic duo will do wonders for your kitchen.

INGREDIENTS:
Baking soda
Water
Damp dish cloth
Plastic spatula
Spray bottle
White vinegar

METHOD:

  • Empty the oven (oven racks and any other elements).
  • Make a baking soda paste: mix 1/2 cup baking soda with a few tablespoons of water. Adjust until you have a spreadable paste.
  • Coat your oven: Spread all over the interior surfaces, steering clear of the heating elements.
  • The baking soda will turn a brownish colour as you rub it in; which is fine.
  • Try to coat the whole oven to the best of your abilities.
  • Let it sit overnight.
  • Meanwhile, clean your oven racks with soap and water.
  • After 12 hours or overnight, take a damp dish cloth and wipe out dried baking soda paste. Use a spatula to help with corners.
  • Spray a little vinegar everywhere until you still see baking soda residue.
  • Do one more wipe down and your oven will look good as new.
