Facts and Fixes

  • GREASE AND FAT SPLATTER

    1. Wipe off excess with a soft cloth or paper towel. Use a water borne degreasing agent ( dishwashing liquid ). Follow up by routine cleaning.

  • THE FLAME IS YELLOW POTS AND PANS ARE STAINED

    Check
    1. Clean / dry the burner components.
    2. Replace gas cylinder.
    3. Fit burner caps properly.
    4. Ensure the gas pipe has been properly fitted.

  • HOBS PANEL RUSTING

    1. The correct cleaner is not being used
    2. Recommended clears are :

    1. Solid plate black / white hob panel – Chemico Paste
    2. Stainless steel hob – Steel Power
    3. Ceran / Glass Top hob – Cerepol Smooth Top Cleaner & Protector

  • KNOBS FADED

    1. Wrong detergent / cleaner is being applied directly onto knob surface – cleaners should be diluted

  • CLOCK DISPLAY IS BLINKING OR CLOCK SYMBOL IS ON

    1. Set time then switch the oven off with function knobs, set the oven function again.

  • BURNERS DO NOT BURN SMOOTHLY OR NOT AT ALL

    1. Clean burner components.
    2. Dry burner components.
    3. Mount the burner cap correctly.
    4. Open gas valve.
    5. Replace gas cylinder.

  • KNOBS LOOSE

    1. Knob clip fallen out.
    2. Lock nut loose.

  • POOR BAKING RESULTS

    1. Is the correct temperature being used (thermofan bakes at 20 degrees lower than Convection)

  • NO GAS IS EMITTED

    1. Open gas valve
    2. Install safety tube without bends.
    3. Ensure the gas pipe has been properly fitted

  • NO IGNITION SPARK IS PRODUCED

    1. Check fuses in the fuse box.

  • OVEN DOES NOT HEAT

    1. Set function knob and thermostat knob.
    2. Set the time.
    3. Check mains supply and fuse box.

  • TIMERS CLICKING

    1. This is normal. Timers do make a clicking noise.

  • OVEN LIGHT DOES NOT WORK

    1. Replace oven lamp.
    2. Check fuses in the fuse box. If necessary, replace or reset them.

  • SMELL OF LEAKING GAS

    Check
    1. Check to see the knobs are in the off position.
    2. Ensure the gas pipe has been properly fitted.
    3. Have hose clamps tightened or replaced.
    4. Have regulator checked and replaced.

  • THE FLAME IS YELLOW POTS AND PANS ARE STAINED

    Check
    1. The burners are dirty or wet.
    2. The gas is running out.
    3. The burner caps are not fitted properly.
    4. The gas hose is twisted, bent or kinked.

  • THE BURNERS OR OVEN WILL NOT LIGHT

    Check
    1. Ensure the gas pipe has been properly fitted.
    2. Clean / dry the burner components.
    3. Replace gas cylinder.
    4. Fit burner caps correctly.
    5. Check to see if the regulator is open.
    6. Follow the correct lighting procedure.
