  • DRYER MAKES NOISES

    1. Noises from the compressor, water pump and expanding metals are normal
  • CONDENSER CLEANING LIGHT IS ON (WHERE FITTED)

    1. Clean condenser.
  • WATER TANK LIGHT FLASHES

    1. Empty water tank
  • WATER LEAKS FROM DOOR

    1. Clean inner door and gasket.
    2. Close door until you hear an audible click.
  • LAUNDRY HAS SHRUNK, BECOME FELTED OR HAS DETERIORATED

    1. Select a programme suitable for the type of fabric.
    2. Follow the instructions on the garment care label
  • IF YOU EXPERIENCE A PROBLEM WITH THE MACHINE, PLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CALLING A SERVICE TECHNICIAN

    You may be charged for a service call, even during the warranty period, if no fault is found.

    1. Check that the cord is plugged in and that the wall socket switch is on.
    2. Check that there is power to the wall socket by testing the socket with a small electric appliance such as a hair dryer.
    3. Check if a house circuit breaker has tripped out.
    4. Check that the laundry is evenly distributed inside the drum.
    5. Check that the machine is not overloaded.
    6. Check that the dryer door is firmly closed.
    7. Check if the ON/OFF button is pushed in.
    8. Check that the lint filter has been cleaned.
  • LAUNDRY IS STILL WET AFTER DRYING

    1. Select a more appropriate programme.
    2. Use a timed programme.
    3. Clean the lint filter.
    4. Do not overload dryer.
    5. Spin laundry at a higher speed in your washing machine.
  • TEXTILES HAVE SHRUNK OR DAMAGED

    1. Only dry textiles labelled safe for tumble drying. Choose a suitable programme for the fabric type. Follow the instructions on the garment care label.

  • THE LAUNDRY IS TOO MOIST OR THE DRYING TIME IS TOO LONG OR THE CLEAN FILTER INDICATOR FLASHES

    1. Has the drum been overloaded?
    2. Check that the ventilation slots are free of obstructions.
    3. Check for blockages in the vent tube.
    4. Clean the ‘ Fluff filter.’
    5. Confirm that the correct programme was used.
  • THE PROGRAMME STOPS FOR NO APPARENT REASON

    1. Is the door open?
    2. Has the power supply been interrupted?
    3. Press the ‘Start/Pause/Cancel’ button.
  • LINT FILTER CLEANING LIGHT IS ON

    1. To obtain maximum results, clean the filter before each drying operation.
    2. Clean lint filter.
    3. Clean filter drawer.
  • THE ‘DRYING INDICATOR’ FLASHES

    1. A heat sensor failure has occurred. Contact your nearest Defy Service Agent.
    2. Press the ON/Off button to switch the dryer off and call service for assistance.

  • THE BUTTONS ON THE CONTROL PANEL DO NOT RESPOND TO PRESSING

    1. Check that ‘Child lock’ has not been activated. If the fault persists, unplug the dryer, wait a few minutes and try again.
  • TAKING TOO LONG TO DRY

    1. Overloaded.
    2. Wet washing loaded. Spin or wring washing before loading.
    3. Ensure that machine has clearance at rear to allow adequate venting.
    4. Clean filter.
    5. Clean moisture sensors.
    6. Improve room ventilation
    7. Do not overload dryer.
    8. Spin laundry at a higher speed in your washing machine.
  • TUMBLE DRIERS – DRIER DOES NOT FUNCTION

    1. Is the unit plugged in and is the switch in the “on” position?
    2. Is the door closed?
    3. Is the programme selected and the switch on?
    4. Check home circuit breaker.
  • THE END-ANTI CREASE INDICATOR FLASHES FOR UP TO TWO HOURS

    1. This is normal. The anti crease stage can last up to two hours. If you wish to reduce the time, switch the dryer off and remove the laundry.

  • THE DRYER OR A PROGRAMME WILL NOT START

    1. Has the ON/Off button been pressed?
    2. Has the Start/Pause /Cancel button been pressed?

    6. Close the door.
    7. Press the Start / Pause / Cancel button.
