If you’re new to the multicooker concept, or if you just want to learn how to get more out of your machine and make it work even better for you, we’ve noted three ways you can use this smart appliance.

A Brief Introduction to The Defy 10-in-1 Multicooker

This all-in-one appliance is a true kitchen powerhouse, and it's easy to see why it has become such a popular choice for home cooks. Whether you're looking for an easy way to get dinner on the table or you want to impress your guests with something special, the Defy multicooker is standing by to fulfil your wishes!

Why not start with a sneak peek into what you can expect from your multicooker.?

Defy Gourmet Chef Multicooker - DMC 6056 X

It’s hard to believe that this humble appliance packs so much into its small frame:

●      Pressure cooking system

●      1100W power

●      5.5 L non-stick inner pot capacity

●      10 cooking programs (Saute, Tandoori, Jam, Poaching, Slow Cooking, Pressure Cooking, Stew, Beans/Multigrains, Yoghurt, Rice)

●      Temperature adjustment

●      Time adjustment

●      Pressure level adjustment

●      Non-slip feet

●      One-hand operation

One of the great things about the Defy Multicooker is its versatility. Sure, it's easy to use for simple one-pot meals. But with a little creativity, you can also use it to make some pretty impressive dishes.

1. Pressure Cooking Functionality

Pressure cooking was all the rage a few decades ago when our grandparents used to have one of those enormous pots that required a PhD to assemble and was - to be honest - a little scary. With the keen focus on healthy meals in the shortest possible time, pressure cooking is making a comeback.

The science behind pressure cooking is pretty simple and beautifully elegant.

Our smart pot contains the steam build up in an increasingly pressurised space which forces the temperature of the liquid past its boiling point. Within this super-heated space the food cooks significantly faster, but, (and here’s where the magic happens) because the steam is contained within the multicooker, the meal retains its moisture. Additionally, this process extracts all the flavours from your delicious feast.

But, what if you’re more of a low and slow food connoisseur? Perhaps the idea of pressure cooking your food isn’t as appealing as a slow roasted dinner. Well, that’s okay too.

2. Slow Cooking Functionality

As convenient as pressure cooking is, some studies have found that slow cooking preserves more nutrients within our food. So, if you have the time, then popping in some tasty root vegetables and that notoriously tough cut of meat into your multicooker is the way to go.

Low temperatures for longer periods are the perfect way to break down fat and allow the flavours of your food to gently meld into each other. Soups, casseroles, stews, and roasts are simply fantastic when done in the slow cooker.

Even those of us with a million responsibilities and far too little time can benefit from the “slow” cooking process. Simply throw in your spices, veggies and whatever else is on the menu, and set the timer to start when you need it to. Imagine walking into your home after a long day at the office, only to be engulfed by the mouth-watering smell of your ready-to-eat dinner. Yum!

3. Tandoori Cooking

Who doesn’t love the rich, aromatic flavours in tandoori meals? Traditionally, tandoori cooking is done in a tandoor, which is a large, urn-shaped cooking pot over a hot charcoal fire. Often the bread and meats are cooked together which gives them both a uniquely delicious taste and a wonderfully smokey flavour.

Sadly, we don’t get to cook over a fire nearly as much as we would like. But, the Defy Multicooker allows budding chefs to emulate those delectable tandoori dishes. When you’re in the mood for something different, why not look online for some tandoori chicken recipes that you can prepare yourself?

Allow those fragrant spices with a hint of herbs to marinate together and create something truly special for your family.

One Size Fits All

This amazingly underrated kitchen appliance is truly a Jack of all trades. Besides the great ideas we’ve listed above, you may want to try your hand at making yoghurt or jam. Perhaps you just want perfectly done rice?

Whatever your wish, the Defy Multicooker promises to deliver exactly what you need with minimum effort and maximum flavour. Still have questions? Download the user manual for the Defy 10-in-1 Multicooker here.
