Transport yourself to a seaside cucina with this delicious Italian antipasti: juicy melon intermingled with cured meats and drizzled with mint syrup. The dreamy combination of salty, sweet and fresh will set your taste buds atingle - what an ideal dish to kick off a festive season dinner party!
Mint Syrup
Ingredients:
● 1 cup water
● ½ cup white sugar
● 50 g fresh mint
Method:
Place the water and sugar into a small saucepan and place on the gas hob of the Defy Cooker. Slowly heat up the mixture until the sugar has dissolved. Increase the heat and continue to boil until a syrupy consistency has been reached. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly – about 10 minutes. Pour the sugar mixture into the beaker of the Defy Hand Blender. Blend with the Hand Blender with the blending shaft attached until finely chopped. Set aside.
Melon & Charcuterie
Ingredients:
● 1 whole melon
● Charcuterie of choice
Method:
Cut the melon into desired shapes and marinate/soak in the mint syrup for at least 30 minutes. Serve with the finest sliced charcuterie.
