Gas hob not igniting?
This is usually caused by food debris, moisture, or a misaligned burner cap.
Watch the video below to see exactly how to fix it in minutes.

Steps to Fix a Gas Hob That Won’t Ignite:

  1. Examine the burner heads and caps.
Make sure they are clean, dry, and correctly placed.

  2. Inspect the burner holes and spark plug.
Check for any blockages or moisture. Gently clean with a dry brush if needed.

  3. Ensure the inner burner cap (wok or 1kW burner) is positioned correctly.
It should sit flush to allow proper ignition.

  4. Allow time for gas flow.
Some cookers take up to 10 seconds for gas to reach the burner after ignition starts.

  5. Use the ignition knob correctly.
Press and hold the knob for up to 3 seconds while turning it to your desired setting.

This heats the thermocouple and helps the burner ignite properly.
