DEFY SOLAR OFF GRID COMPETITION – TERMS & CONDITIONS

PROMOTER

The promoter is Defy Appliances (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”).

This promotional competition is conducted in accordance with Section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008

ELIGIBILITY

The competition is open to all South African residents in possession of a valid South African identity document and who are 18 years or older.

Participants must reside within the Republic of South Africa. Proof of identity and residence may be required.

Employees of the Promoter, its subsidiaries, advertising agencies, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate.

CONSENT & DATA USAGE

All personal information (“Personal Data”) supplied by participants shall be processed in accordance with South African data protection legislation, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.

All personal information supplied by participants will be processed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

Personal information will be processed solely for purposes of administering the competition, contacting the winner, and delivering the prize.

Participants may elect to receive marketing communications from the Promoter by selecting the optional opt-in box on the entry form. Consent to receive marketing communications is voluntary and is not a condition of entry.

Participants have the right to:

· Access their personal information

· Request correction or deletion

· Object to processing

· Withdraw consent to marketing at any time

COMPETITION PERIOD

The Defy Solar Off Grid Competition will run from 16 February 2026 and ends at 23:59 on 16 March 2026.

No entries received after the closing date will be considered.

The Promoter reserves the right to extend the competition period, subject to compliance with applicable legislation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To enter the Defy Solar Off Grid Competition, participants will be required to:

· Complete the official online entry form accessed via Defy’s social media platforms or digital advertising.

· Provide basic contact details as requested on the entry form.

· Only one entry per person will be permitted.

No purchase is required to enter the competition.

Automated entries or entries submitted through agents will be disqualified

PRIZE

· One (1) winner will receive a Defy Solar Off Grid Fridge Freezer, including:

o Solar panel

o Battery

o Installation

· The total prize value is R35,000.

· The prize is not transferable and may not be exchanged for cash.

· Installation is subject to a site inspection to confirm suitability and geographic accessibility. Should installation not be feasible due to structural or regulatory constraints, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with an alternative product of equal value.

· The prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be deferred

WINNER SELECTION

· The winner will be selected by means of a random draw conducted under the supervision of an independent person or via a verifiable audited electronic system on 17 March 2026.

· The winner will be contacted using the contact details supplied at entry.

· If the winner does not respond within 3 (three) business days of being contacted, or fails to provide the required information for prize fulfilment, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner selected.

· The winner’s name may be published on the Promoter’s website and/or social media platforms, subject to the winner’s consent.

GENERAL

A copy of these rules will be available on www.defy.co.za throughout the competition period.

The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect, or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of submission will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

The Promoter shall not be responsible for any technical failure that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant if fraud, cheating, or manipulation of the competition is suspected.

The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the competition due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Any such change will be communicated on the Promoter’s website.

Such amendment, suspension or termination will not affect participants’ accrued rights in terms of applicable law.

Participation in the competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

LEGAL

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to unlawfully restrict, limit, or avoid any rights or obligations created under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“CPA”). The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in the competition or use of the prize, except where such loss arises from the Promoter’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
