The reason for this sound; the freezer door is left open. If the freezer door is left open, the door open alarm will begin within a few minutes. You will hear a warning sound that will make you aware that the door is not fully shut. As soon as you close the door, the alarm will turn off.

The sound you're hearing is the door open alarm. If the refrigerator door or doors are left open, the door open alarm will be activated in a few minutes. As soon as you close the door, the alarm will turn off.
This indicates that the Fast Freeze function is activated. The Fast Freeze function on Defy fridge freezers allows for rapid freezing and quicker ice-making. It’s normal for your refrigerator to run for longer when Fast Freeze is on. Fast Freeze should not be left on for longer than 5 hours. If you want to cancel it, simply press the Fast Freeze button until the light goes out.
You can use your Defy freezer in ambient temperatures as low as -15°C. To see the exact lowest ambient temperature your Defy freezer will work in, check your user manual. If you’re having trouble finding your manual, download it here using your product’s model number.

The recommended temperature for freezers is around -18°C.

Defy freezers are designed to keep food frozen for 10 to 18 hours in the event of a power loss. The best way to keep food frozen during a power cut is to leave it in the freezer with the door closed. Keep the door openings to a minimum during this time. You can find the exact time your freezer will keep food frozen, consult your user manual. If the power outage lasts longer than the specified time, remember that you should not refreeze thawed food.

It’s recommended that you clean your washing machine pump filter every three months or when it’s clogged. This filter is installed to catch foreign items like buttons or coins, and to prevent these items from entering the drain hose. It’s located at the bottom right-hand corner of your machine.

If the first and second additional function buttons flash three times when you rotate the programme selection knob, then the child lock is activated. You can’t make any changes to programmes, temperature, speed or additional functions while the lock is active.

To deactivate the child lock, press the first and second additional function buttons simultaneously for three seconds while any programme is running. The lights on the buttons will flash while you do so.

You can also switch the programme selection knob to the On/Off position when no programme is running to deactivate the lock.
