Top Loader Error Codes Explained (DTL 160) – Quick Fixes
E1 – Slow Water Intake
Cause: Water is not entering fast enough.
Check:
Is the water tap turned on?
Is the water supply cut off?
Is the water pressure too low?
Is the inlet filter clogged?
Are the hot and cold hoses connected correctly?
E2 – Slow Water Pumping
Cause: Water is not draining properly.
Check:
Is the drain hose positioned correctly?
Is the drain hose bent or placed too high?
Is the drain hose or pump clogged?
Has there been a recent power failure?
E3 – Unbalanced Load
Cause: Laundry load is uneven.
Solution:
Open the lid and redistribute laundry evenly.
Make sure clothes are not clumped to one side.
Check that the machine is on a level surface.
E4 – Overflow
Cause: Too much water inside.
Solution: Call the Defy Customer Care line on 086 100 3339.
E5 – Frequency Out of Range
Cause: Electrical frequency issue.
Solution: Call the Defy Customer Care line on 086 100 3339.
E6 – Lid Open
Cause: Lid not properly closed.
Solution: Close the lid firmly, ensure it’s not obstructed, and check that the machine is level.
